Better Sleep Starts Here
By now, we've all heard about the morning routine. But what about the equally important nighttime routine? Much like a morning routine, the nighttime routine prepares you for what's to come, and in this case, it's a restful, rejuvenating night's sleep.
Here are some tips for creating an easy-to-follow nighttime routine to make your bedtime worth dreaming about.
Tip #1 Enjoy a Sip
Drinking tea before bed can help promote relaxation and sleepiness. Chamomile tea has a long-rooted history of aiding in the promotion of sleep. Or reach for an herbal blend, like Sleepytime Tea, with many ingredients to promote a good night's sleep.
Tip #2 Pick a "wind-down" activity
It can be hard to switch to a restful state after a busy or stressful day. Choosing a simple and calming activity can help you settle into the evening. Reach for a book if you want a little more stimulation, or try a legs-up-the-wall meditation session to clear your head and improve circulation after a day on your feet.
Tip #3 Slip in some skincare
While you might have your go-to PM skincare routine on lock, there are a few products you can add for a little extra self-care. Try a collagen-boosting sheet mask or an ultra-hydrating serum to level up your skincare and enjoy a little extra pampering before you hit the pillow.
Tip #4 Put the phone away
Gone are the days of doomscrolling in bed until 2 am and wondering why you feel so tired the following day. Charge your phone away from your bed so you don't feel tempted to reach for it; place it on Do Not Disturb or with the screen facing down so the bright screen light doesn't wake you up. If you need a little sound or light to fall asleep, try an alarm clock like Hatch to satisfy the need for a bit of noise, and wake up with a gradual sunrise.
Tip #5 Make it your own
Your nighttime routine is for you, so make it something you want to do. Choosing activities you'll look forward to doing before bed will ensure you stick to your routine and get the good night's sleep you deserve.
